Own goal gives Feyenoord victory over Ajax in KNVB Cup
A last minute own goal by Joel Veltman put Amsterdam football club Ajax out of the KNVB Cup on Wednesday night, giving victory to arch rivals Feyenoord.
The Rotterdammers’ 1-0 win in the third round of the competition puts them into the round of 16, which will take place in mid December.
The two sides will meet again in the league competition on November 8.
Defending champions Groningen are also out, after being beaten by FC Utrecht 5-3 in extra time.
However, amateur side VV Capelle have made it through to the round of 16 with a 1-0 win over Jupiler league side Dordrecht.
