Ajax draws Celtic, Fenerbahçe in Europa League
Ajax is drawn in what experts say is one of the trickiest groups for the next stage of the Europa League competition.
The Amsterdammers will meet Scottish champions Celtic and Turkey’s Fenerbahçe where Robin van Persie plays. Like Ajax, both clubs failed to qualify for the Champions League group phase. Group A is completed by the Norwegian champion Molde.
AZ of Alkmaar is in Group L with Athletic de Bilbao, German side Augsburg and Partizan from Serbia. FC Groningen is in Group F and will meet Marseille, Braga of Portugal and Czech side Liberec.
The first matches take place on September 17 and the sixth and final matches of the group round on December 10.
