police carDutch police were involved in 33 serious shooting incidents last year, the public prosecution service said on Friday.

In total, 31 people were injured and two died. They both committed suicide and were not hit by police bullets, the department said.

There is always a formal investigation into serious shooting incidents involving the police ‘in order to ensure public trust in the service’. In 2013, there were also 33 investigations.
