Public and commercial broadcasters unite with view-on-demand service

The Dutch public broadcasters have joined forces with commercial channels RTL and SBS to set up a joint platform to allow viewers to catch up on programmes they missed.

Viewers will pay a fixed monthly fee to subscribe to the platform NL Ziet which will run alongside the current catch-up services Uitzending Gemist, Kijk and RTL XL.

The new service will launch in 2014 and will initially only be available via computer or laptop.
