Dutch MEP invites British firms to move to the 'stable' Netherlands

Tuesday 26 February 2013

A member of the European parliament for the VVD has written an open letter to British companies inviting them to move operations to the Netherlands because of the uncertainty about Britain’s future relationship with the EU.

In a letter to the Financial Times, Toine Manders says that while he ‘sincerely hopes’ Britain will remain part of the EU, British companies need a ‘stable political future instead of uncertainty’.

‘I would therefore like to invite companies exporting to the EU to look at the Netherlands as an alternative location for their businesses,’ he said.

‘The Netherlands provides a stable business climate with direct continued access to the internal market, solid infrastructure and friendly, English-speaking people.’

Good. The UK has now become a third world country, and like a living museum thanks to the incompetence of their governments. All they ever think about is how to get more tax out of the citizens even going as far as stealing from their pension funds.

A non-stop Eurostar service between Amsterdam CS and London St. Pancras plus more flexible employment laws will help attract more foreign firms here.

'Stable' - it's often said of dying patients also!
Nothing 'stable' in the Netherlands especially political thinking! It's like shifting sands! One could be forgiven for believing many politicians here are mentally ill.

Friendly English speaking Dutch people..... Except at the Belasting Dienst. I had to call up for a college the other day because they refused to speak English to her!
