CapGemini limits pay cut for older workers to 20%

IT company CapGemini said on Wednesday it will limit the pay cut request to less-productive older workers to 20%, the Financieele Dagblad reports.

On Wednesday morning, the paper quoted union officials as saying most people had been asked to accept a pay cut of 20% to 30%.

A company spokesman told the paper this ‘had been experienced as very severe’ and a ceiling of 20% would now be imposed.

The company is attempting to cut the pay of around 400 staff members ‘because there is a gap between what they earn and what they are capable of’. The measure has the support of the works council, the FD said.
