Rotterdam police join art theft investigation in Romania

Two Rotterdam detectives and a public prosecutor are going to Romania to help with the investigation into a major art theft at the city's Kunsthal museum last year, the NRC reports.
On Tuesday Romanian media reported three men had been arrested in connection with the multi-million euro heist last October.
A Rotterdam police spokesman told the NRC: 'We are going to exchange information with the Romanian authorities. We are not familiar with the way our colleagues there work and will take steps, depending on the outcome of their investigation. We also have a number of questions to ask the three suspects.'
The three were reportedly arrested after trying to sell the paintings by a specialist team which focuses on organised crime and terrorism.
None of the paintings - including works by Monet, Picasso and Matisse - are thought to have been recovered.
