Samsung Benelux must pay any profits it makes on the sale of some older Galaxy phones to Apple, a court in The Hague said on Wednesday, in the latest stage of the two companies’ long-running patent dispute.

If net profits made on the disputed phones since June 2011 are unclear, Samsung will instead have to pay compensation to Apple, the court ruled. If Samsung continues to sell the disputed phones, it will have to pay a fine of €100,000 a day.
The case focuses on phones using an older version of Samsung’s Android system. It centres on claims the Android operating system infringes an Apple patent on navigating images in a photo gallery.
Samsung last year changed the feature to get round the injunction.
