Reduced trains around Amersfoort

A fire in an escalator at Amersfoort railway station on Monday afternoon damaged cables essential for train services, leading to cancellations in the region on Tuesday morning.

Engineers worked through the night in an effort to restore services but there are still no trains to Zwolle, Apeldoorn and Ede. Passengers are being urged to travel via Utrecht and Arnhem, adding around one hour to journey times.
Normal services are expected to resume around 10.00 hours.
