Dutch women's football team qualifies for next European Cup
Thursday 20 September 2012
The Dutch women's football team has qualified for the 2013 European Cup in Sweden as the best number two in the group round.
The Dutch team had to wait for the other teams' results to find out if they would have to take part in play-offs for one of the remaining places. The draw will be made on November 9.
'We earned this,' coach Roger Reijners told news agency ANP. 'It is crucial for the development of the team and women's football in general.'
Football is now the biggest team sport for women in the Netherlands.
