Political parties are listed for election

The electoral council on Thursday published the rankings for the 22 parties that are taking part in the election on September 12.
The ten main parties in the current parliament are listed in order of their number of seats, starting with the right-wing liberal VVD at number one and ending with the animal rights party PvdD at number ten.
New parties, such as the Pirates party, 50Plus and the Anti-Europe party were allocated their place by lottery.

By Terence Hale | 3 August 2012 5:23 PMAS a foreigner in Holland observing your politics I find it strange, an election in a few weeks, no posters, and no lobbing, no noise, no anything. Whatever ways you vote give the winner a mandate to rule.
I guess such a popularity rating would matter if you had a small IQ and didn't hold a strong view on just about anything. Otherwise, people will vote on the party whose views closely match their own.... won't they?
A link to the runners would have been nice (I have mentally listed only 8 of the parties). For those who didn't figure politics out yer, there is always Stemwijzer ;)

By dork | 6 August 2012 8:39 AMjudging by what happened in 2000 in the US (Gore, Bush, Florida) , I recommend not to count on the voter IQ and add a clear text to the list saying "Ranking among parties in this list bears no meaning implied or whatever".
