The Netherlands dropped three places on the latest Global Peace Index to 28th, reports the Volkskrant on Tuesday.
Since the index was first published in 2007, the Netherlands has dropped eight places.
The Global Peace Index is published annually by a panel of experts and gives an indication of the safety and harmony in most of the world’s countries.
Points are given for a number of developments, such as the number of armed conflicts, but also for the amount of crime, weapons export and the size of the armed forces.
Singapore, Malaya and Taiwan rank above the Netherlands in the list.
