Nine Dutch children in Swiss bus tunnel crash (update)

Nine Dutch children were in the coach which crashed in a tunnel Switzerland on Tuesday night, killing at least 28 people, the Dutch foreign ministry confirmed on Wednesday, ANP reports.


The bus was carrying children from a primary school in Lommel, just over the border by Eindhoven, and from another school in Heverlee, Belgium. In total, the bus was bringing 52 people home after a skiing holiday.
As yet there is no word if the Dutch children were among the casualties. Police say 22 children are among the dead.
Prime minister Mark Rutte described the crash as ‘unimaginable’.
