Computer problems cost industry €19bn a year

Computer problems and shaky IT skills are costing employers some €19bn a year, according to researchers at Twente University.

The researchers estimate productivity is cut by some 8% because of a lack of expertise and technical problems with computers.
‘Employers and staff are hardly aware of this,’ researcher Alexander van Deursen told website nu.nl. ‘For every hour we work behind the computer, we are losing five minutes because of problems.’
