'The Netherlands at heart of European triangle', says prime ministerTuesday 10 January 2012 The Netherlands is at the heart of the European triangle formed by France, Germany and Britain, which is exactly where it wants to be, prime minister Mark Rutte told reporters after a lightning trip to London on Monday afternoon. The Netherlands works with Germany when it comes to eurozone financial discipline, with France on migration issues and with Britain on boosting European economic growth, Rutte said. Rutte was one of several European Liberal leaders who met Britain's deputy prime minister and Liberal Party leader Nick Clegg on Monday afternoon. According to the Financial Times, Rutte said he wanted Britain to be involved in all single market issues because it was a key ally. 'Britain is growth-orientated,' Rutte said. 'We need as many countries as possible which are growth-orientated to be fully part of the EU. We can never have Britain in a second class position.' © DutchNews.nl
More like, 'The Bermuda triangle', we are all lost. We desperately need new political leadership! By Highlander | January 10, 2012 11:57 AM Sounds like a nobody trying hard to convince us he's important. By Donaugh | January 10, 2012 12:26 PM being in the middle means isolated, in this particular case. By expat | January 10, 2012 12:31 PM While most Europeans think its Germany. By Johan | January 10, 2012 1:55 PM I respect that Rutte is trying to get the main countries in the EU to play together, I beleive that EU needs a ref in this game who is not in EUHQ. I think that his efforts are credible and positive in this respect. By AndyT | January 10, 2012 5:19 PM

Geographically, yes. Politically, no. Rutte seems like a PM trying too hard to boost his international cred.
