The woman from Geleen arrested following the discovery of three dead babies at her home last year told a court on Monday she had no idea she was pregnant with the third child.

Anita C. said when the baby did not move or cry she wrapped it in a plastic bag inside a box and put the body in the garden shed.
The 42-year-old defendant is charged with murder but her lawyer says the charge should be infanticide, which applies specifically to mothers who want to hide their pregnancy and the birth of a child and carries a lighter sentence.
