VVD starts political summer break on new high

As parliament breaks up for the summer recess, support for the ruling conservative Liberal party VVD has risen again, according to the latest Synovate poll.

The poll, carried out every two weeks, shows the VVD would win 38 seats if there is a general election tomorrow. The party currently has 31 seats in parliament.
The VVD’s Christian Democratic coalition partner is down one at 15 – the party has 21 seats in parliament. The coalition’s alliance partner PVV is unchanged on 25, one more than it has at present.
The changing fortunes of the three parties give the alliance 78 of the 150 seats in parliament, two more than it controls at present.
