Missing tourist found alive in Spanish hills after 18 days

A Dutch tourist who disappeared in Spain 18 days ago has been found alive in a mountainous area and airlifted to hospital.

Mary-Anne Goossens, 48, was found by three walkers in the Nerja region. She is described as weak and dehydrated but conscious and has already spoken to her children by phone, the Telegraaf reports.
From the media coverage, it is not clear what happened to the woman or why she had failed to return to her hotel.
Goossens was on a 10-day holiday alone. The last known sighting of her had been in the mountain village of Frigiliana.
