The 29-year-old man arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a couple in their late 50s was their former son-in-law, the Telegraaf reports.

The man, known as Fred B, had not made a secret of his plans to attack the couple, the paper says. He had earlier attacked their daughter Amanda and himself was seriously injured when he set her house on fire.
He had also vandalised their cars and smashed the windows of their home with paving stones.
A number of witnesses also told the paper he had made direct threats against the couple over the past few months.
The woman, Trees Schoevers, was found dead at her home shortly after midnight on Tuesday. Her husband Henk died of his injuries in hospital.
