SP leader visits Greece

Socialist Party leader Emile Roemer leaves on Sunday evening with his colleague Ewout Irrgang for a visit to Greece. He wants to see for himself what is happening in the country, the Telegraaf reports.

Roemer, who says more money for Greece ‘will not solve the enormous mountain of debt’, will have meetings with politicians, trade union leaders and entrepreneurs, says the paper.
The party leader blames a few corrupt politicians are responsible for the Greek debt, but also the bankers who made millions from their risky loans and now expect the tax payer to pay.
Roemer returns on Tuesday for a debate on Wednesday his party MPs have organised with economists to discuss the European debt crisis, the situation in Greece and the future of the euro.
