Heinz focuses European research on Nijmegen

US food giant Heinz is setting up a new European research centre in Nijmegen in what the company says it is biggest investment in innovation in its 140-year history.


The new lab will start work in 2013 and have a workforce of around 100. Heinz already employs some 50 people in research units in the city and Elst.
At the same time, Heinz is also centralising its European purchasing, planning and logistics operations in Zeist.
Heinz headquarters, Continental Europe and Benelux are already based in Zeist. The company owns Dutch brands Honig, Roosvicee, De Ruijter and Karvan Cevitam among others.
