GroenLinks warns cabinet over Kunduz mission

The left-wing green party GroenLinks will drop its support for the police training mission in northern Afghanistan if the government does not meet conditions agreed by parliament, party leader Jolande Sap said on Sunday.

GroenLinks only agreed to support the mission on condition the length of the training period was extended to at least eight weeks.
Nato has a six-week limit and last week it emerged the government has not won a commitment for a longer period.
GroenLinks support for the Kunduz mission was crucial because it is opposed by the government’s alliance partner, the anti-Islam PVV, and the Labour party.
