Both FC Twente and PSV Eindhoven failed to make it through to the semi finals of the Europa League on Thursday night.

Twente lost 1-3 to Spanish side Villarreal, following their 5-1 away defeat last week.
PSV held Portugal’s Benfica to a 2-2 draw, but that was not enough to combat the effect of last week’s 4-1 away defeat.
Both sides can now concentrate on the last four matches in the Dutch premier league competition, where just four points separate the top three: Twente, PSV and Ajax.
