Telegraaf profits rise, but sales down slightly

The Telegraaf Media Group, owner of the country’s biggest newspaper, De Telegraaf, booked net profit of €81m in 2010, up 37% on the previous year.

Total revenue was down slightly at €592m. The group expects stable sales this year but says advertising income is down so far.
TMG also owns the Sky radio station and free newspaper Spits. Last year it bought the Dutch social networking site Hyves for €43.7m, the Financieele Dagblad reported.
