Public prosecutor calls for automatic driving licence loss

The public prosecution department is recommending all drivers in the Netherlands get a points-based driving licence, the Telegraaf reports on Friday, quoting a confidential report to the transport ministry.

The recommendations say drivers would automatically lose their licence if they collect more than nine points. Speeding in built up areas would cost four points, for example, while causing a serious accident would cost seven.
