Police admit mistakes in Hillis gangland killing

The police have admitted that they were carrying out a secret surveillance mission just metres from the spot where an underworld figure was shot dead last week in Amsterdam.

There was also a police helicopter nearby.
According to the Telegraaf, the two police officers in the surveillance van witnessed how Stanley Hillis was killed.
Although the police did go after the getaway car, no-one was arrested for the killing. One reason for this was that the communications equipment was tuned in to special frequencies for the surveillance operation, the police statement said.
