Marianne Vos takes seventh world cycling title

Marianne Vos took the world scratch cycling title in Apeldoorn at the weekend, bringing her total world titles to seven.

Scratch is a 10km track cycling race in which all contestants start from scratch (on equal terms) and the finishing order is based on the final order across the line at the completion of the race.
Teun Mulder came second to Stefan Nimke of Germany in the men’s one kilometre time trial and Kirsten Wild took bronze in the omnium – a series of seven different events.
Bronze medals also went to Theo Bos and Peter Schep in the men’s madison – a two-man relay event.
