Amsterdam council executive is manager of the year

Amsterdam city council the journalists of public service newspaper Binnenlands Bestuur have voted executive Lodewijk Asscher local authority manager of the year.


Asscher won the title for his ‘open communication combined with the distinctive way he has strived to improve education in the city’.
Second in the ranking is Peter Glas, head of the De Dommel water board and third Eindhoven mayor Rob van Gijzel.
Four of the top 10 local government officials are Labour supporters, three back the Christian Democrats and two the VVD Liberals, Binnenlands Bestuur said.
