FNV union federation to target 2% pay rise next year
The FNV trade union federation will call for a maximum 2% rise in next year’s pay talks, the country’s largest union grouping said on Monday evening.
In addition, the union will pressure employers to spend the equivalent of 1% of the total wage bill on maintaining jobs, pensions and flexible working processes.
Three weeks ago Henk Kolk, the leader of the FNV-affiliated general workers union, called for wage rises ahead of inflation, in order to boost consumer spending.
Inflation is set to reach some 1.5% next year.
Earlier on Monday, the CNV union federation said it would be looking for wage rises of between 1.5% and 2.5% as well as commitments on jobs in next year’s pay negotiations.
