Wednesday 08 September 2010
Police in the Netherlands and 13 other European countries on Tuesday launched a series of raids against an online film pirating network, closing down 48 websites, according to media reports.
The NRC says 10 people in the Netherlands, Britain and Belgium have been arrested.
The raids followed a two-year investigation by Interpol and Belgian police.
According to news agency AFP, the network was known as The Scene and offered downloads of films before they were available on DVD.
More details are due to be made public on Wednesday.

'piracy network'. What a scare! I thought it was talking about a cartel to set up prices against the consumers in petrol, banking, electricity, food, telecom or other critical industries for people. DVDs ... well I am more calm now.
