AkzoNobel to supply Walmart with paint

Coatings and chemicals company AkzoNobel announced on Wednesday it is to become the primary paint supplier for the American company Walmart, the world’s largest chain of discount department stores.

AkzoNobel will develop a selection of indoor and outdoor paints for the 3,500 Walmart stores in the US.
The agreement, which begins in 2011, will ‘significantly boost our market share in the US and contribute to further enhancing the value of our Glidden brand’, board member Tex Gunning said in a statement.
The Dutch company already supplies paint to Walmart stores in Puerto Rico and Canada.
