No photos when model Naomi Campbell heads for court

Model Naomi Campbell may not be photographed in the street without her express permission when she is in the Netherlands on Thursday to appear before the war crimes trial of former Liberian leader Charles Taylor, the Telegraaf reports.

Campbell is expected to give evidence about a diamond given her by Taylor and the judges have ruled ‘there are legitimate reason to be concerned about Ms Campbell’s safety and privacy because of her public persona and the extreme media attention for her appearance’.
Campbell only agreed to attend the trial after being threatened with a jail sentence if she did not give evidence. The court suspects the jewel is a blood diamond acquired from rebels in Sierra Leone and taken to South Africa to sell or exchange for weapons.
Taylor has been on trial at The Hague since January 2008 on 11 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
