Seven football clubs start new season with minus points
Wednesday 28 July 2010
Seven of the Netherlands' professional football clubs will start the 2010/11 season with minus points, the football association KNVB announced on Wednesday.
NAC of Breda is the only premier league side affected. It starts the new campaign with minus one point for paying association fees too late.
The other six teams are all in the first division. Worst offender is MVV which starts out on minus seven points. The Maastricht side is in serious financial trouble and was saved by the city council in May.
