Final votes are counted, turnout was 75%

The turnout in Wednesday’s general election was 75.3%, down from 80.4% in 2006, the Telegraaf reports on Friday.


In total, 9,435,667 votes were cast, of which 0.3% were either blank or spoiled papers. Some 35,000 Dutch nationals voted abroad.
The crucial difference between the Liberal party (VVD) and Labour is 78,775 votes, the results show.
VVD – 20.5%, 1,926551 votes 31 seats
PvdA – 19.6 %, 1,847,776 votes, 30 seats
PVV – 15.5 %, 1,453,944 votes, 24 seats
CDA – 13.6 %, 1,281,137 votes, 21 seats
SP – 9.8 %, 924,977 votes, 15 seats
D66 – 6.9 %, 653,265 votes, 10 seats
GroenLinks – 6.7 %, 627,912 votes, 10 seats
ChristenUnie – 3.3 %, 305,628 votes, 5 seats
SGP – 1.7 %, 163,512 votes, 2 seats
Partij voor de Dieren – 1.3 %, 122,257 votes, 2 seats
Trots op Nederland – 0.6 %, 52,735 votes, 0 seats
Partij voor Mens en Spirit – 0.3 %, 26,224 votes, 0 seats
