Healthcare will cost more, say patient organisations
Patients will have to spend hundreds of euros more a year for healthcare after the general election, several patients organisations warn in Monday’s AD.
A study of all the different party manifestos shows all will lead to an increase in patient spending, the Dutch patients’ federation says.
‘Of course there are differences between the parties and it depends on what coalition we get. But the way things look now, on average people will be several hundred euros a year worse off,’ said NCPF spokesman Jan Coolen.
The council for people with chronic diseases also says parties are giving a too rosy picture of the effect of their plans on healthcare during televised debates.
Own risk
Most parties have included an increase in the own risk element in healthcare insurance in their proposals.
According to nursing organisation V&VN, GroenLinks, D66 and CDA have the best healthcare policies, each scoring 7.5 out of 10. Labour is second with 7.
Bottom of the nurses’ ranking is Rita Verdonk’s Trots op Nederland movement with 4 out of 10.
