Leefbaar Rotterdam leader wants power

Wednesday 03 March 2010

Marco Pastors, leader of the populist Rotterdam party Leefbaar Rotterdam, said on Wednesday he would not take a seat on the city council if his party does not become part of the city's government after the local elections.

Leefbaar Rotterdam, the party founded by murdered politician Pim Fortuyn, has been in opposition in the port city for the past four years. It emerged as the second biggest party in the city after the 2006 election.
