Jazz singer Caro Emerald has made Dutch pop music history now her debut album Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor has occupied the top spot in the charts for eight weeks.

No other national or international artist has held the number one position with a debut album for so long, the Telegraaf reports.
Emerald, born Caroline van der Leeuw, broke through internationally when her song A Night Like This featured in an advert for Martini.
