Taliban: Dutch are right to leave

Wednesday 24 February 2010

A spokesman for the Taliban in southern Afghanistan has said the Dutch decision to leave the country is a wise one, the NRC reports on Wednesday.

‘It is right and just for the Dutch not to give their lives for American goals’, Qari Yousef Ahmadi told the paper during a telephone interview.

‘The Dutch have realised that they have nothing to gain by being here, their goals are not here so why should they sacrifice themselves?’, the spokesman said.

Ahmadi said he wanted other countries to follow suit. The Netherlands is the first of the 43 countries taking part in the Nato mission to withdraw from Afghanistan.

The Taliban are not afraid the Dutch withdrawal will mean that possible incoming American troops will pose a bigger threat.

‘Every country that comes to Uruzgan to fight awaits the same fate’, the spokesman said. ‘Up to now everybody who has tried to take on the mujahedeen has not fought well. They do not know how to do it. All they do is make notes on how it should be done.’

American attaché Richard Holbrooke said yesterday he hoped the Dutch decision would not be final.

Does the term "glass factory" mean anything?

Wow! The Taliban backs the decision to leave. That should settle it, then. I'm sure that none of the effects of heroin trafficking or support of terrorist activities could ever impact Dutch interests. When the Taliban validates the retreat maybe the decision to leave is not so wise after all.

The Dutch are right. To fight for democracy is not democratic, to bring civilization uniforms must go. When uneducated people like most Afghans are forced to vote they will do so for even more stupid leaders in order to feel more genius than them. Let the land to the lords of the land. Army out, business men in. Buy the opium and sell it on and make a profit. The classical Dutch way.

That's all the Dutch government needed; 'sound' advice from the Taliban. This means they won't have to hire a consultancy to figure out what to do. Oh happy day!

I have to agree with the Dutch decision. The question every nation in the European Union needs to consider is whether the goals of the United States are the same as the European Union. Maybe it's time to dissolve NATO and to form a European Union military alliance excluding America.
This way America is free to invade or undermine other nations based on their goals.
