Everyone will be worse off in 2010Wednesday 20 January 2010 Almost everyone will have less disposable income in 2010 and families with children will be hardest hit, according to the household spending institute Nibud on Wednesday. Nibud says January pay packages for people without a structural wage increase will be lower than 2008 because of tax increases. And the average pay rise is set to be around 1.25% this year, lower than the forecast rate of inflation, and this will also hurt spending power. In addition, child benefit has been frozen. And families with young children and household income of over €32,500 a year will also get less government cash. Unemployment will also hit many households hard, Nibud said. The official jobless total is expected to reach 510,000 this year, compared with 380,000 in 2009. Unemployment benefit is calculated as 70% of last earned salary. © DutchNews.nl
I have already stopped working few years ago not to finance the social people, who live in the same type of house as I do, though paid half for it as they like to work part time, hence earn much less. Indeed I did already noticed on my salary slip this month that net salary was quite lower that previous months! Reason? Of course more taxes! In this country more you earn,more you pay and less you get! Everage income is 30k a year in Holland, only very low income people keep getting any sort of benefits(ex 32k per family! Not p.p!). Most of people should seriusly ask themself why are they working! Just to mantain others that prefer to have easier life! I wander how this minority would survive if suddenly all others like me decides that we gave enough and simply stop working!
