Train services cancelled, delays at Schiphol

Dutch Rail is warning passengers that many services are being cancelled because of Sunday’s snow and freezing temperatures while others face long delays.

In the north, many services from Leeuwarden have been scrapped because of freezing points. There are no, or limited services from Leiden and Rotterdam to the Hague and the NS website warns people to delay their journey if at all possible.
Travellers using Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport are also facing delays of several hours, as workers struggle to keep the runways free. Some flights may also be cancelled. Passengers are being advised to contact their airline for more detailed information because the airport’s website is so busy it is only partially accessible.
