Spyker interested in taking over Saab
Wednesday 02 December 2009
Dutch luxury car maker Spyker is in talks with General Motors about possibly taking over Saab, a spokesman for Spyker confirmed to the Financieele Dagblad on Wednesday.
'They are interested in Saab. That is all I can tell you,' a spokesman was quoted as saying.
General Motors said on Tuesday it is giving potential buyers for Saab until the end of December to make their positions known otherwise it would begin winding down the company. A bid by Sweden's Koenigsegg collapsed last week.
Spyker said last month it is moving its assembly lines from the Netherlands to Coventry in England in order to cut costs and boost efficiency.
