The health ministry is launching an online campaign to combat what it says is misinformation about the flu vaccine being offered to children, the elderly and healthcare workers in the Netherlands.

The campaign will include advertising banners on weblogs and internet forums where the vaccination programme has become the subject of hefty debate.

Yesterday, the health service council formally recommended that children aged between six months and four should also become priority cases for the vaccine.
The Telegraaf reports on Tuesday that a two-year-old boy has become the latest victim of swine flu in the Netherlands. The child had other health problems, the paper said.
