Rail maintenance firm to cut 350 jobs

State owned rail maintenance company Strukton is to cut 350 of its 2,400 jobs in the Netherlands because of increasing pricing pressure on major contracts, the company said in a statement on Monday.

Strukton has a total workforce of some 6,000 in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Scandinavia. The Dutch jobs will go all over the country at all levels, Strukton told news agency ANP.
The job losses are currently being discussed with unions and the works council, Strukton said.
Strukton is 100% in the hands of the state-owned Dutch railway company NS.
