First division football matches 'fixed'

Several Dutch first division football players have been paid to fix matches by Chinese gambling bosses, according to Canadian journalist Declan Hill.
Hill, who hit the headlines last year with the publication of his book The Fix - how to fix a football game, says a source in Singapore made the claims last week.
'I did not believe it because you [the Dutch] have a reputation for being honest,' the Volkskrant quotes Hill as saying. The match fixing involves teams which are low down the first division and lost away matches by a wide margin over the past few weeks, he told the paper.
Hill declined to say which clubs were involved, saying their names would be published in his second book, due out in the run-up to next year's World Cup.
The Dutch football association KNVB told the Volkskrant it was taking the claims seriously and would 'investigate every match' if necessary.

Hellooo.....I have always thought that most football games were fixed. What, the big money people, like the super rich Russians like the game so much they want to own a team...come on. It would be the easiest game to fix.
