Dutch McDonalds installs anti-robber spray

A Rotterdam branch of the McDonalds fast food chain is installing equipment to spray robbers with a unique compound which will make it easier for the police to trace them, the Telegraaf reports on Monday.

The spray can be detected with a special lamp, and can’t be washed off skin or clothing, Ben Franken, who runs the snack bar on the city’s Coolsingel, told the paper.
Experiments with the spray in a number of city centre shops earlier in the year led to a sharp drop in robberies, Franken told the paper.
The paper did not say how many times the McDonalds had been robbed.
