Injury time foils AZ win

Alkmaar club AZ's hopes of a victory in Tuesday night's Champions League competition were dashed in the last minute when Belgian side Standard de Liège equalised in injury time.

The Dutch league champions were given a 1-0 lead by star striker Mounir El Hamdaoui soon into the second half. But the Belgian side snatched the equaliser in the 91st minute. 'We lost our concentration and then you get a goal,' Australian player Brett Holman told Nos tv.

AZ have had a poor start to the season, losing their last four league matches.
