The Netherlands had 81 vineyards at the end of 2008 covering a total 143 hectares, said the national statistics office CBS on Wednesday.
Most are found in Gelderland province, where the total rose from 17 in 2007 to 28 last year.
In February, three dry white Dutch wines won gold medals at the German wine event Berlinale Wein Trophy.
