Fewer millionaires in the NetherlandsThursday 25 June 2009 The recession has hit the number of millionaires in the Netherlands, according to the latest World Weath Report by Merril Lynch, news website Z24 said on Wednesday. The number of people with net assets of over $1m fell from 120,600 in 2007 to 105,900 last year, a drop of 12.2%, the website said. Nevertheless, the Netherlands still rose from 15th to 14th place on a list of countries with the most millionaires. The US was hardest hit. The number of 'high net worth individuals' fell 18%. © DutchNews.nl
That's nothing... Australia's number of 'high net worth individuals' fell 23.4% By James | June 25, 2009 12:44 PM Although I am not a member of this particular millionaire's club, I too have a vast fortune. The events of the past 12 months have had no adverse effects on my investments whatsoever. In fact, as I read about the all the losses and the despair others are experiencing, my appreciation of my own fortune grew. If you are looking for an investment that is rock solid and secure forever you will find the article below of great interest. I am not a Christian, I happen to be a Muslim and proud of it but I do not sell Islam on this site. The subject is about the decline of millionaires in Holland. Being also Dutch (have investments there that did "ok") I am interested in what has happened. If you think it is unGodliness, say it but not sell it. By Solkhar | June 25, 2009 5:05 PM Seeing that I do not believe in any type of "god" I find any religious fanatic posting to be in err and should be removed. @Solkhar, buy next Friday on the Tech Dax. For the last 23 of 25 days that the European exchanges are not to be effected by American markets(4th of July/Independence day), the majority go up 3-4%. Especially the solar / renewable companies (Q-cell!) By Paul Martin | June 26, 2009 12:33 PM

I find the numbers are less than actual millionaires. In the economic boom, over the last 5 years, many became millionaires in holdings of property. Though the properties were overinflated in price they may be dodging taxes by underestimating the resale price. I know my overall investment portfolio is rising, based mostly on renewable energy companies, but I know many who "lost their shirts". Invest in what you know will be growing in 5 years and dump the old standards for they have been polluted by "bad investments/mortgage mess". Oil will last just so long and the alternatives are the future.
