Wilders wants to attend British court hearing

Friday 08 May 2009

Anti-immigration MP Geert Wilders said on Friday he hoped to go to Britain on July 9 when a court in London will hear his appeal against being banned.

'I want to be there in person, and defend myself together with a British lawyer, Wilders said on his website.

The anti-Islam campaigner was banned from entering Britain in February after the authorities said he could be a danger to public order.

Good luck to Geert. Any time you have a religious group controlling a government, you have have very dangerous situation. Free speech is critical for human rights. In America,
Geert is considered an international hero. The Brithish government is suffering from the Neville chamberlain
syndrome. Its a failed policy.

The present elected government has been delegated by common consent, the responsibility for administration of tax payers funds, and the donations made on goodwill on behalf of tax payers should be accountable regardless of the purpose for which they are used. That person and the party in question has its own private xenophobic agenda which is in contradiction to the interests of the general public in a democratic country. The 'same funds' which are in the process to be allocated to this party 'in question' could have equally been used to serve a better purpose for the whole society. For example well deserving civil projects which promote and educate the general public about issues such as Cooperation, Harmony, Integration, Mutual respect, Common progress for the whole society etc.
This decision by the public management council (ROB), will set a wrong precedent and example to the general public (Legalizing incitement of hatred and xenophobia through the back door). The seriously worrying question is, who monitors the monitor ? Its one flexible preferential law for the Dutch lawmakers and Dutch citizens and another type law (fixed between a rock and a hard face) for non Dutch citizens. Judging by its own actions, Its fair to say that (ROB) is encouraging and promoting institutional discrimination in the society and at higher levels of governance. The actions of public management council (ROB) to use public tax funds for financing and supporting a party (which privately has an extreme xenophobic agenda), and without the consent of the majority of the public in this country, is out of order.

Home Secretary Smith may not have enough time to consider your case as she is very busy fiddling her expenses.

Sorry we are already up to our necks in radical mid east refugees already. A visit from Geert would only make that more apparent.

Wilders is a disgrace and the assumption from another poster that the US thinks he is a hero is false if not the opposite.

Wilders and his one-agenda based party are there to feed of the natural xenophobic emotions when life gets tough. His need is to feed of scandal, for example it almost certain he would have attempted to gain capital if the driver of the black suzuki was a Muslim, regardless if his insane reasons were the same as the white locally-born man who actually did it.

The issue in the UK is not to appease the politically active Muslim community in that country, the government (correctly) pointed out that the political agenda of Wilders is religious intollerance and bigotry and that it certainly will create disharmony - we should say more disharmony in the UK if he came. That he is a public official is the determining factor, as an individual he would not be banned but as a politician, he is and should be.

Also, before others start yelling that phrase "freedom of speech", it has nothing to do with that, does freedom of speech allow for public freedom to hate, especially if you are a leader? He is arguing that his desire to go to Copenhagen's freedom of speech conference is apposed by that nation's PM, why? Because Wilders admitted that he wants to go to talk about freedom of speech AND Islam, thus he politicised it to his agenda and thus he should not go.

He is still facing two charges in the Netherlands and I hope he loses, then he is out of parliament, politics and he will dissapear as the extremist hate-mongerer that he is.

no, sorry, we have enough extremists on all sides. If I have the need to listen to this man, it's a 45 minute, £35, flight away! If your passionate about his policies leave the UK. Thats what a free europe is about!
