Technical goods trader Eriks cuts 450 jobs

Technical goods trading company Eriks is to cut its workforce by 450 because of the economic downturn and poor prospects for a short-term recovery, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Thursday.

Eriks booked a 57% drop in first quarter net profit. Sales were up by €25m at €270m, driven by acquisitions.
Last week trading company SHV brought out a €42 cash offer for Eriks. Eriks has said the bid is under consideration.
